Prototype 1 - APV Parbhani

Size:- 1.5 MW APV, over 5 acres

Location :- Zari village, near Manwath, Parbhani District, Maharashtra

This installation is a smaller part of a 50 MW Renew Power Solar Installation and features agriculture in 4 setups -

1) The 3.75 m Shade-house , which is the flagship install. Here we have a mounting structure that is based out of SunSeed’s proprietary Wire-Rope expertise, with inbuilt features for shade-nets, trellises - ensuring dual use of structure.

2) There are 3 normal ground mounts with higher ground clearances - 1.75m Bifacial, 1.25 m Bifacial, 1.75m Monofacial.

3) There is a control area without PV - to check comparative yields and growth patterns of plants.

Overall timeline

  • APV Structures Erection completion - December 2022

  • Installation of Shade-nets, Irrigation Systems, Bore-well, Containers for Personnel - Jan 2023

  • First Cropping Cycle - Feb 2023

What lies ahead -

  1. The first Cropping Cycle will end in 70-90 days pre-monsoon, and will give us initial data on growth patterns. This is really the priming cycle, for a more indepth planting for the monsoon season of 2023.

  2. Crops that we took in first cycle include - Flowers:- Chrysanthemum, Dutch Rose, Tuberose, Marigold, hibiscus , Magai Paan(Betel), Muskmelons/Watermelons, Microgreens, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes

  3. Leafy greens - Methi and Coriander were planted directly under modules, in the non elevated sections

  4. People interested in viewing/understanding the project and progress should be able to visit the project towards the end of the first cropping cycle. We will create visitation lists via emailers for subscribers - so keep yourself subscribed!
